Week 7

Why does being pregnant have to be so much of not fun stuff? I have no energy, this month I have had no motivation to go walking like I was doing. I'm happy if I just get the boys outside for a half hour to play. My desire for salads and eating healthy is about zip compared to what it used to be. I have not thrown up, but just an occasional queezy moments. Certain foods sound awful to me, and things I used to eat and love, I really can't stand right now, like avocados--weird. I made a big green salad tonight and added alot of veggies, even thought I didn't want to eat it I thought if I just made it and put it on the table and try and force myself to eat it, I'll eat it. But I just could not eat it. I managed to just eat some plain romain lettuce leaves after my dinner which was a bit encouraging. It's all I can do to try and make food for the rest of the family and force myself to eat it too. And my brain is half gone. I'm so forgetful and just can't seem to keep up with what I used to do. I feel like I'm trudging through my day. I can't wait until I get more energy sometime in the coming months. With Moses I didn't feel good until I was about 20 weeks along!! Elijah, I don't quite remember. Oh yes, my baby is about the size of a small blueberry according to babycenter.com.

The pregnancy brain is horrible! I had one of my most embarrassing moments on Sunday because of it. Wow, the babies grow fast. I'm 9 weeks and it's the size of a grape, about an inch long! I'm already starting to show, too. Not more than a little pooch, but still...with Maddox, I didn't show until after 15 weeks!

Aw, I'm sorry you're feeling crummy. "This too shall pass"--but I'm sure you know that, you experienced mama, you!

With both of my pregnancies, I couldn't stand raw vegetables during the first trimester. What's up with that? Shouldn't our bodies be craving all those healthy nutrients instead of rejecting them?

Candice, are you taking your prenatal vitamins? Very important. Remember that God made your baby so that she will get all the nutrition she needs to grow strong and healthy. You need to eat healthily and take your vitamins so that you have an abundance for both of you. Otherwise, the baby's nutritive system will rob your system for the nutrition she needs and you'll find yourself tired, run-down feeling, anemic, or worse.

You might try throwing a bunch of healthy stuff (like fresh spinach or ground carrots) in the blender with some fresh fruit and eat it like a milk-shake. Sounds gross, but it might work!

With pregnancy #3 (the twins), I was so sick for the first 3 months that I lost almost 15 pounds. Fortunately the nausea did go away...eventually!

I agree, though, for all that pregnancy has such a fantastic reward at the end, it's a real drag for the first 9 months!!! ;^)

Hang in there, sis!
